The first Singapore Airlines A380 arrived at its new home in Singapore on 17 October 2007. Flying in on a 12-hour non-stop flight from Toulouse, France, the super-jumbo landed at Singapore Changi Airport’s new Terminal 3 around 1840hrs. It was heartily received by over 400 guests at the welcome ceremony held at a gate holdroom. Two fire trucks provided a salutary arc of water—the auspicious ‘water cannon salute’—triggered by Singapore Prime Minister Mr. Lee Hsien Loong.
